The Summer School Syntax, Truth, and Paradox will take place at USI, Lugano (Switzerland)
from 17 to 21 June 2024 and will be taught by Volker Halbach (University of Oxford) and
Lorenzo Rossi (University of Turin).

A map through the land of dragons: Truth, knowledge, necessity, and other notions central
to philosophy are haunted by the paradoxes. Philosophers have discussed the liar paradox
since antiquity, not only in the Western tradition. In this summer school, we discuss the
origins and formal analysis of the paradoxes as well as possible solutions and ways to
prevent them from undermining philosophical theorizing.
How to apply: Application is open to graduate students and early career researchers.

Accepted participants will have the opportunity to send a short abstract for consideration
to present some of their research at the summer school.
